What are CPD Hours?

As mentioned on The CPD Standards website:

"Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the intentional maintenance and development of the knowledge and skills needed to perform in a professional context."

It means either of the following:

-Honing current skills and developing them to a new level. For example, say you are already a nutritionist/dietician. Then this course will brush up on your nutrition knowledge and may give you insight into the concept of how to coach your clients towards a long-lasting lifestyle change.

-Learning new skills. For example, you may be a fitness professional and start by helping your clients with healthy eating guidelines.

Most companies and organizations worldwide prioritize CPD because this ensures a constantly developing workforce.

Here are some of the solid benefits of pursuing a course that CPD Standards have accredited:

-Helps you keep your knowledge and skills up-to-date
-Helps build confidence and credibility and allows you to showcase your achievements on your CV, website, blog or even a specialized studio/center.

-Helps with career progression and advancement

And as per CPDStandards.com, CPD may even contribute to achieving higher salaries.

All Fabulous Body's Certificate Courses are approved for 15 CPD Hours.

The Holistic Nutrition Coach Certification is approved for 48 CPD Hours.

CPD Hours can also be called CPD Units or CPD Credits. But, in the end, they are all the same thing.

Suppose you do 10 courses in a year, providing you with 15 CPD hours each; you have accumulated 150 CPD Hours in that given year.

If an employer sees in your CV that you have 150 CPD Hours in your portfolio, she would be impressed with your commitment to lifelong learning, hence the phrase CPD- Continuing Professional Development.
